The Punjabi’s have it all, special dances, for men, women and even the young Punjabi girls. Kikli dance is more of sport than a dance and generally popular within the young girl usually this dance is performed in pairs. There are verities of traditional songs available that are used to accompany the ‘Kikli’ dance where most of this consists merely of loosely rhyming lines without underlining theme.
Performance—the girl sings as the swirl around with colorful ‘orhins’ or ‘duppattas’ flowing from their head and anklets producing tinkling melodies. It can be done by any even number of performers starting with two.
